It’s a whole new experience. I have taken classes and given guest-lecture and taken workshops many times, but for students. So, I was bit hesitate when I receive the call from Karthick, who is a Assistant professor of CSE Department at MVJ Engineering College, Bangalore. But, I took this challenge as an opportunity, and said Yes to Karthick. Then Karthick & Sheethal(Who is also working in the CSE Department) coordinated with me and dates fixed for 3 days FDP on IoT(Faculty Development Program). It is December 20,21, and 22.
On December 20th, I reached the college campus, Manimozhi mam, who is the HoD of CSE Department welcomed me. I entered into the seminar Hall. A big shock. There were around 50 Professors from various Departments, most of them have done their Phd. To be honest, I was really really nervous, literally. But, they were so humble and started listening to me. I thought It would be difficult to handle the staffs, But, I was wrong. They were very polite, no ego, no partiality. So, the first half was kind of introduction.
After the lunch, we slowly started hands-on. They were fast learners. grasped the concepts quickly. As always, I’ve added a few game sessions, quiz, Q&A, etc. Day one ended productively. They have booked a nice hotel near by the college. Day 2 full of demos and Hands-on. Every team done different projects and they came to the stage and explained their projects in front of others.
Day 3, I got the feeling of I’m gonna miss them. It was like, We all know each other for years. I became one of them, and they treated me as one among them. Yeah, 3rd day goes like testing of the last 2 days. Hopefully I have covered all the main topics of IoT within the 3 days. I’m sure all of them can do beginner to Intermediate level IoT Projects now. It’s a good success I guess. Then I summarized the whole session, and finished the FDP program with a dance performance(There were 2 dancers). Overall, This is a fun and productive weekend for me and for them as well.
